Job Summary
Act as the first responder to emergencies, enforce federal and state laws, and conduct mobile patrols, inspections, and searches. Guard NASA buildings and property, control access, and manage traffic enforcement and investigations. Escort and interact with public and government personnel while communicating effectively via radio, telephone, and in person. Remain on call for emergency duty and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Complete required training, obtain security and medical clearances, and pass the physical agility test. Contribute to the safety and security of the Marshall Space Flight Center.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Possess a valid state driver's license
- Have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture
- Successfully complete all training and obtain all required licenses, certifications, and security/medical clearances for the site
- Meet and maintain NASA Physical Certifications
- Complete psychological examinations
- Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
- Pass the Physical Agility Test (PAT)
- Be available for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Remain on call for emergency duty
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of military or law enforcement experience as a full-time employee of a civilian law enforcement agency, military police, or government or civilian security guard organization
