Job Summary
Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle, monitor security alarms, and respond rapidly to security emergencies including violent patients, crimes, and emergency codes. Enforce regulations, investigate security breaches, and report HIPAA breaches if witnessed. Log all activities in a daily log, write incident reports, and dispatch officers using appropriate radio codes. Maintain a safe environment for medical staff, patients, and visitors while adhering to protocols and core values. Requires six months of healthcare security experience, BLS certification, and an Arizona driver's license. Located at Saint Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six (6) months experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service; or one (1) year experience as a security officer
- American Heart Association-issued Basic Life Support (BLS) card within 90 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Arizona State Driver's License with satisfactory DMV report
- International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officer
- Basic Health Care Security Officer (BSO)
