Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, monitoring entrances and exits while warning violators of rule infractions such as loitering or smoking. Sound alarms or contact police and fire departments for unauthorized persons or emergencies, then investigate incidents and prepare written logs. Aid customers and employees in a professional manner and mediate conflicts with tact. Work rotating shifts including on-call duties with little to no advance notice, traveling between sites within 30 miles of Atlanta. Requires valid driver's license, background investigation, and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- One year or more of prior security experience
- At least 21 years of age, or higher if required by the state
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
- Must be available to work on all three shifts every day of the week
- Travel between sites that are within 30 miles of Atlanta
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
