Job Summary
Security Officer patrols hospital facilities and grounds to deter loss of hospital, colleague, patient and visitor property by intercepting unauthorized individuals and investigating unusual incidents. Responsible for inspecting doors, windows, and gates to ensure security, inspecting equipment for tampering, and reporting irregularities. Must meet education (high school diploma or GED), have a valid driver’s license, CPR certification, and typically 1-3 years of security experience; specialized training in instructional or industrial security preferred. Based in Livonia, Michigan with location at Plymouth Medical Center and related facilities; full-time night shift. This role emphasizes safety, security procedures, observation, incident reporting, and collaboration within a large not-for-profit health system.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- CPR certification
- 1-3 years of security/law enforcement experience preferred
