Job Summary
Conduct internal and external patrols inspecting for unlocked doors, burned-out lights, and maintenance issues while enforcing parking tickets and tobacco policies. Control visitor access during non-visiting hours and provide transport for deceased patients to funeral homes. Respond to facility emergency codes and calls for assistance regarding combative patients, visitors, or employees, exercising judgment in use-of-force scenarios. Investigate incidents of unusual circumstances and ensure accurate documentation of all activities. Perform routine tasks including monthly grounds and fire extinguisher inspections, weekly elevator checks, and providing customer assistance such as directions or vehicle jump starts. Operate security equipment, radios, and video monitors while maintaining compliance with IAHSS certification and psychological evaluation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- 1 or more years of Related Experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Successful Completion and Maintenance of Security Psychological Evaluation(s)
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Employment with the health system is contingent upon, among other things, agreeing to the health-system-dispute-resolution-program.pdf and signing the agreement to the DRP
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- More than 5 Years of Experience
- Military, Law Enforcement, or Armed Security Experience
- Healthcare Security Experience
- International Association of Hospital Safety & Security Basic Certification obtained within 6 months
- Taser Qualified (Appropriate Qualification Course Provided by the Health System Upon Hire)
