Job Summary
Protect museum assets, employees, and guests by enforcing security processes; conduct routine security patrols of the building, grounds, and parking areas; monitor CCTV and access control systems; respond to incidents, injuries, or violations; provide outstanding service to visitors and coordinate with guest services on security and safety issues; maintain logs and documentation, operate a two-way radio to communicate with multiple teams, and support emergency management and contingency planning. Requires NY security guard license, driver’s license, ARC first aid/CPR/AED certification, and NARCAN training; ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends; some overtime and outdoor work in varied conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State security guard license
- Driver’s license
- American Red Cross certification in first aid, CPR, and AED for adults and children
- NARCAN training
- Ability to conduct routine security patrols and monitor CCTV
- Strong customer service orientation and teamwork
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain logs
- Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends
- Ability to pass drug screen and criminal background check
