Security Officer Temporary Shelter

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by executing site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location in Jamaica, NY. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and disturbances in a calm, professional manner while following established reporting and escalation procedures. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, floors, and perimeter zones, to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns. Monitor access points and visitor activity to verify authorization and maintain an orderly environment. Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security activities accurately in logs and reports, communicating relevant information to site leadership and management. This fixed-shift commitment requires a six-month base assignment with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma, and pass a background investigation and drug screen.
