Job Summary
Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly by roving inside facilities, in vehicles, or at other locations. Ensure safety and compliance for employees, visitors, and clients by verbally de-escalating situations and apprehending rule violators. Examine the interior and exterior of the Marathon Refinery and surrounding areas to determine security status. Report and record data on property damage or unusual occurrences per company policy. Respond to emergencies including fire safety and active shooter protocols, and check heating, lighting, and security systems for operational status. Notify supervisors if safety standards are not met. On-call rotation required; valid driver's license and TWIC card necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
- 21 years of age
- Valid TWIC card
- Ability to obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $98.25 prior to beginning work
- Ability to speak, understand, read and write English
- Ability to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision
- Ability to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to complete a 1 1⁄2 mile walk/run in under 25 minutes
- Ability to run 50 yards
- Ability to climb a flight of stairs
- Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client
Desired Qualifications
- At least two (2) years of security, law enforcement or military experience
