Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated mall areas on foot or in vehicle, monitoring entrances and exits to permit authorized access and observe departing personnel for theft prevention. Watch for irregular conditions, warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering or smoking, and sound alarms or contact police/fire for emergencies. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare detailed reports, and maintain required written logs. Aid customers and employees in a courteous manner while making emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice, utilizing the shift-pickup platform to build a flexible schedule. Valid driver's license and background investigation required; no prior experience necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Subject to a background investigation
- Subject to a drug screen
- At least 18 years of age
- 21 years of age if armed
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively
- Identify critical issues quickly and accurately
