Job Summary
Conduct regular patrols of multi-level buildings and outdoor campus areas, climbing stairs to inspect all zones while maintaining prolonged alertness. Respond swiftly to emergencies by operating security equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, and de-escalating conflicts with patience and professionalism. Monitor surroundings using strong vision and hearing to detect alarms or distress, then document all activities and incidents in accurate logs and reports. Work independently during full-time morning shifts on a school campus in San Francisco, adhering to all safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess a current California Guard Card License
- A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
- Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, particularly when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de-escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards
- Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement
- Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols
- At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand and walk for long shifts, often for several hours at a time, including traversing outdoor areas with uneven surfaces, without significant physical strain
- Regularly climb stairs and navigate multi-level buildings to perform patrols and check all areas
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to move or secure equipment, and assist with other duties as necessary
- Ability to withstand various weather conditions during outdoor patrols, including hot, cold, rainy, or windy weather
- Ability to handle and operate security equipment, such as radios, keys, and locks
- Ability to sprint short distances if needed to respond quickly to emergencies or incidents
- Capable of working long hours while remaining alert and focused throughout the shift
- Ability to kneel, crouch, and bend to check low-level areas, secure entrances, or assist in emergencies
- Strong vision and hearing to observe surroundings, monitor security systems, and detect alarms or sounds of distress
