Job Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for employees, customer-owners, and visitors at Southcentral Foundation. Responsibilities include enforcing policies, responding to emergencies, conducting patrols, and investigating unusual activities. Candidates must possess related certifications and either an associate degree or relevant experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in criminal justice, sociology, criminal law, or similar discipline; OR Two (2) years’ experience in military, law enforcement, security officer, or similar position; OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Certification in Basic Life Support within six (6) months of hire.
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) Basic Level certification from IAHSS; OR obtain within six (6) months of hire.
- Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) certification from IAHSS OR obtain within two (2) years of hire.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Valid Alaska driver’s license that meets State of Alaska DMV license requirements.
- Zero (0) DUI, DWI, or OUI violations in the past five (5) years; No more than two (2) violations in the past ten (10) years.
- Current copy of driving record from issuing State prior to hire.
Additional Requirements
- Native Preference policy applies to hiring, contracting, and training. Certification required for preference.
- Compliance with Employee Health procedure required prior to first day of employment.
