Job Summary
Monitor and patrol assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, hallways, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures. Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a shelter setting. Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, maintaining an orderly environment. Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift handoff communications as required.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
