Job Summary
Security Officer PRN at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring hospital premises and personnel, assisting with personal protection, traffic control, and emergency response. May employ Houston Methodist-approved defensive tactics to ensure safety; on-call schedule with open days/shifts. Emphasis on effective communication, customer service, and adherence to HIPAA and safety procedures. On-site security role with typical hospital duties and requirements for licensure and basic certifications within specified timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED, homeschool equivalency, etc.)
- Criminal justice, security or related experience preferred
- Security Officer license: Security Officer Non-Commissioned, must be obtained within 12 months of hire or Security Officer Commissioned Level 3 or Personal Protection Officer Level 4 with DL and licensure within 90 days
- IAHSS - Certified Security Officer-Basic/Advanced/Supervisor within 90 days
- NVCRISIS - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or CPI within 60 days
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; customer service orientation; ability to multitask and work calmly in stressful situations
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Webmail
- Flexibility to work various days/shifts including on-call as needed (PRN)
- Ability to patrol premises, monitor surveillance, respond to emergencies
