Job Summary
Security Officer provides information and directional assistance to patients, visitors, and staff while enforcing WVU Medicine policies to maintain a safe, secure environment. Responsibilities include maintaining visibility at assigned locations, responding to requests for information, providing wheelchair and escort services, monitoring parking and traffic, preventing accidents and theft, conducting routine rounds, reporting incidents, assisting in emergencies and disasters, performing vehicle operations and inspections, and complying with required certifications and training in security, first aid, and safety.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Obtain certification in BLS or HeartSaver First Aid within 60 days of hire date
- State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable)
- Taser User certification
- Handcuffing Tactics training
- OC Spray Certification
- AVADE Training Levels I - III
