Security Officer- Part Time Weekends 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Patrol the entire building and cottages on a non-routine basis, checking all floors, laundry rooms, trash rooms, storage rooms, fire exits, and public areas. Investigate and report suspicious activity, complete daily and incident paperwork, and contact the Director of Security or Gastonia City Police for apprehensions. Monitor the security camera system, manage fire logs, and secure exterior doors at set times. Confers with the Nursing Department and fills in for the Medical Transportation Driver when needed. Execute Code Red procedures by listening for announcements, locating residents, and assisting until the Fire Department arrives. Maintain a professional image while adhering to all policies and completing assigned training by the deadline.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years old
- Must be able to work every weekend
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times
- Ability to climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop
- Ability to follow and give instructions accurately
- Ability to maintain high standards of work quality even under pressure
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Ability to adapt to learn and utilize new software and technologies as needed
- Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to delegate when appropriate
- Proficiency with various technology platforms, to include the Microsoft Office Suite and other software products needed to fulfill the requirements of this position
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Warm and personable image, demonstrating the ability to connect effectively with the senior population across diverse functional abilities
