Job Summary
Monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, entry points, loading areas, and perimeter locations, and verify visitor credentials to deter unauthorized activity. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations while documenting observations and completing incident reports. Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities. Maintain awareness of changing conditions and communicate security concerns, maintenance issues, and policy violations to site leadership. Work part-time shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Suffolk, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Desired Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred
- A Guard Card or license is preferred
- CPR certification is preferred
- Access control and badge experience is preferred
