Job Summary
Greet visitors, check company IDs, and patrol building perimeters to safeguard Disney property and guests. Screen audience lines at live TV shows and movie premieres, while responding to medical or fire incidents and working with first responders. Diffuse tense situations, control messenger flow, and perform walk-through evaluations at off-site events. Maintain precise logbooks and utilize technology to document incidents and manage information flow. This part-time role in Durham, NC requires 1 year of corporate security, law enforcement, or military experience and offers ongoing training in CPR and threat assessment.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of corporate security, law enforcement or military experience
- Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, and strong command of basic English grammar
- Ability to make quick decisions using your training and common sense
- The knack for talking to people in a friendly way that gets results
- A team orientation and willingness to collaborate
- Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job and be outside in all weather
- Flexible workdays/hours (this is a shift work role) and ability to work some overtime
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher
- Valid Security Guard license issued by your state
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working under pressure
