Security Officer Part Time

Job Summary
Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeters, while monitoring surveillance equipment and alarm systems. Secure the environment by inspecting access points, permitting entry, and preventing trespassers through active deterrence. Sound alarms, report irregularities to management and authorities, and intervene in direct defense of life or property. Complete daily reports recording observations, interviewing witnesses, and maintaining building controls. Ensure equipment operation through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions. Act as a consistent presence to maintain organizational stability and comply with JCAHO standards and state licensure requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Work experience as a security officer or other relevant position
- Basic computer skills necessary for reporting and communications
- Willingness to comply with all laws and institutional regulations at all times
- Current TB test
- Valid drivers license
- Proper lifting techniques
- Ability to read computer screens
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to lift 50 to 75lbs
- Must be able to balance, limb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately
- Must be able to reach and write the English language
- Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to outdoor weather conditions
