Job Summary
Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and the surrounding perimeter, to identify and report unusual activity. Monitor access points and visitor activity to maintain an orderly environment, then respond to incidents and disturbances in a calm, professional manner. Complete accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation while communicating observations to leadership. This fixed-shift commitment requires a six-month base schedule with the option to pick up additional shifts via the Smart Tools platform. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma, and pass a background investigation and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
