Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watching for irregular conditions that may create safety hazards. Sound alarms or call police and fire departments in case of fire or unauthorized persons, warn violators of rule infractions, and permit authorized persons to enter property while monitoring entrances and exits. Observe departing personnel to protect against theft and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements. Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, maintaining written logs as required. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications pursuant to site Post Orders.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license
- Subject to a background investigation
- Subject to a drug screen
- At least 18 years of age
- 21 years of age if armed
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
