Job Summary
Escort visitors, employees, and students; patrol hospital areas internally and externally on foot, bicycle, and/or vehicle 24 hours a day in all weather conditions. Detect suspicious campus activities, handle situations appropriately, and report criminal activity to supervisors and law enforcement. Investigate accident scenes, preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and make oral and written reports. Assist medical staff with enforcing the Baker Act and Marchman Act, including the use of approved medical restraints as requested by physicians. Work with law enforcement during patient/prisoner intake and assist the Patient Care Coordinator with securing high-risk patients. Respond to inbound and outbound helicopter flights to ensure helipad safety and assist flight crews. Maintain regular attendance and comply with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word for report writing purposes
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier's requirements and standards
- State of Florida Class D Security Officer License
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification
- Basic Security Officer Certification or higher level of certification through the International Association of Hospital Security and Safety
