Job Summary
Conduct regular patrols and monitor traffic/parking areas to guard property against damage, theft, and unauthorized entry. Enforce safety measures, process visitors, operate gate barriers, and perform vehicle/person screenings. Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, interview people to investigate disturbances, and report irregularities to management. Write daily and incident reports, maintain high work area standards, and participate in safety meetings and training. Work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays in an industrial setting, maintaining alertness and professional interactions with all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the work site
- State Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain
- Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC) or able to obtain
- Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively
- Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug screen
- Must be able to successfully complete a post-offer physical
- Must comply with established dress code/uniform requirements
- Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates
- Attend company/job required training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Must be able to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical
Desired Qualifications
- Military, law enforcement, or security experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security company within the past five years
- Military experience in an applicable specialty
- Experience working in a refinery or plant
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry
- Certified in First Aid & CPR, refinery safety standards
