Job Summary
Patrol hospital buildings and grounds, protecting patients, visitors, volunteers, employees, and property while holding post on assigned shifts. Respond to emergencies, manage access control, and provide security escorts to parking garages or restricted areas. Greet visitors and staff courteously, answer inquiries, direct traffic, and investigate suspicious situations or reported losses. Operate security systems including alarms and surveillance, maintain package control, and submit incident reports. Detain law violators as necessary and assist fire brigades during alarms by directing populations to safe areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Current and valid NYS Security Guard License
- Current and valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
- Current and valid Crisis Prevention/Intervention (CPI) certification
- Strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Crisis Prevent/Intervention-Ct license
- Security Guard Reg-NYS license
Desired Qualifications
- Some College
- Current and valid NYS Drivers License
- Basic computer skills including MS Office
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
