Job Summary
Provide security, safety, and welfare of students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a school environment. Maintain high visibility in hallways, parking lots, cafeteria, rest rooms, grounds, stairwells, and other locations to deter disorder and deter crime. Patrol assigned areas, screen visitors, confront unauthorized persons, escort or detain individuals when needed, and support law enforcement as required. Conduct routine patrols, crime prevention, surveillance, emergency response, and documentation. Assist administrators in preventing injuries and property loss, stop disruptive behavior, participate in fire drills, testify when necessary, and collaborate with police, EMS, and other public safety personnel. Render first aid and CPR as appropriate, and prepare incident reports and disciplinary documents. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; some college coursework is welcomed.
