Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicles at Symphony Hall in Boston. Monitor entrances and exits, warn violators of rule infractions, and permit authorized persons to enter property. Sound alarms or contact police and fire departments for unauthorized persons, fires, or other safety hazards. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and maintain written logs as required by the post. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner while making emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Perform duties during all-day and evening shifts with flexible scheduling, including irregular shifts with little to no advance notice.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
