Job Summary
Monitor entrances, galleries, reading rooms, and public spaces for unauthorized activity, unusual conditions, and adherence to visitor guidelines. Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional manner while conducting regular patrols throughout the facility and perimeter. Provide customer service to visitors, staff, researchers, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities. Maintain accurate activity, incident, and visitor-related records while communicating professionally with leadership and site personnel. Work part-time shifts from 10:15 AM to 5:15 PM on Tuesdays and Sundays.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
Desired Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred
- A guard card or license is preferred
