Security Officer

Mayo Clinic Security Officers provide professional customer service and security presence. Responsibilities include patrolling Mayo Clinic property and security-sensitive areas, assisting visitors, patients, and staff, preventing and deterring fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry, and enforcing Mayo policies. May operate a security vehicle, prepare incident reports/activity logs, and work in security control centers. The role requires adapting to unpredictable and stressful situations, managing altercations and emergencies, using a two-way radio, and functioning effectively as part of a team with other emergency responders including law enforcement and fire/rescue personnel. Physical activity includes walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pulling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and occasional running; ability to evacuate patients and others, including use of emergency evacuation devices. Must be able to work nights and weekends. May be required to carry and deploy a taser.
