Job Summary
Provide operational supervision for daily Security Officer activities, including training, coaching, and fulfilling basic security functions. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers to resolve issues, document unusual incidents, and conduct quarterly emergency drills. Train hospital community members on staff and patient safety protocols while maintaining critical judgment and diplomacy in a healthcare environment. Work nights on a variable schedule of eight days per week, reporting to Sutter Health's CPMC-California Pacific Med Center Davies organization.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- PSO - Proprietary Private Security Officer
- 4 years recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of the usual duty requirements of a security officer with an emphasis on the physical and emotional maturity required for the high degree of judgment and diplomacy necessary to work efficiently in a healthcare environment
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to write incident reports
- Ability to read business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
