Job Summary

Conduct day-to-day security coverage for the campus by utilizing vehicle and foot patrol functions to provide a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff. Respond to and investigate reported incidents including thefts, vehicle accidents, property issues, medical emergencies, fires, and safety hazards. Assist and lead response to all campus emergencies while providing safety escorts and maintaining life safety equipment. Complete written incident reports, necessary forms, and opening/closing building procedures. Uphold Campus PSEP staff standards and utilize CCTV, access control systems, and incident reporting systems. Serve as a Campus Security Authority per the Jeanne Clery Act and resolve conflicts while promoting an inclusive environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be adept at resolving individual and group conflicts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to partner well with colleagues both in and outside of the organization
  • Ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued
  • Ability to utilize CCTV
  • Ability to utilize access control system
  • Ability to utilize incident reporting system
  • Ability to assist in maintaining life safety equipment for the campus
  • Ability to provide safety escorts for students, faculty, staff, and guests as needed
  • Ability to lock and unlock doors as necessary
  • Ability to complete opening/closing building procedures
  • Ability to serve as a Campus Security Authority per the Jeanne Clery Act
  • Ability to complete written incident reports and necessary forms as they relate to public safety duties
  • Ability to respond to and investigate incidents that have been reported, including but not limited to, thefts, vehicle accidents on campus, property issues, medical emergencies, fires, safety hazards and fire and security alarms received
  • Ability to provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff on campus by utilizing vehicle, and foot patrol functions
