Job Summary
Conduct security patrols and respond to all calls for assistance in a timely, professional manner. Enforce hospital security policies while assisting medical personnel with managing violent or uncooperative patients and applying physical restraints when necessary. Remove individuals refusing to comply with procedures and document all incidents through written reports. Address fire safety emergencies and maintain awareness of specific patient and visitor needs. Requires NYS Security Officer Eight Hour training certificate, a valid driver's license, and experience handling tense situations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum NYS Security Officer Eight Hour training certificate
- NYS Driver's License
- excellent communication skills

- ability to handle extremely tense and potentially violent situations
- ability to assess the needs of patients, employees, physician, volunteers and visitors
- awareness of the needs of individuals according to age specifics
