Job Summary
Patrol and monitor facility premises at the ABSMC-Summit Campus, observing and reporting suspicious activities, unauthorized access, and unsafe conditions. Manage access control, keys, and emergency response notifications while rendering assistance to staff, physicians, patients, and visitors, including monitoring and restraining violent patients. Investigate and document incidents relative to the facility, acting as liaison between staff and local law enforcement agencies. Requires a HS Diploma, PSO certification, and one year of recent relevant experience. Performs duties on a varied per diem schedule with 8 days per week, including weekends, at a rate of $30.35 to $42.48 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- PSO - Proprietary Private Security Officer
- 1 year recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of the usual duty requirements of a security officer with an emphasis on the physical and emotional maturity required for the high degree of judgment and diplomacy necessary to work efficiently in a healthcare environment
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to write incident reports
- Ability to read business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
