Job Summary
Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to protect patients, visitors, employees, and property. Respond to emergencies, operate security systems, and provide security escorts. Greets individuals courteously, answers inquiries, and directs visitors while maintaining package control policies. Investigate suspicious situations, escort unruly personnel, and submit incident reports. Unlock doors, direct populations to safe areas during alarms, and assist fire brigades. Detain law violators, direct traffic, and represent the hospital in legal cases as necessary. Requires a valid NYS Security Guard License, CPR/AED, and CPI certification. Hourly rate $34.68 - $43.07.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Current and valid NYS Security Guard License
- Current and valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
- Current and valid Crisis Prevention/Intervention (CPI) certification
- Strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Crisis Prevent/Intervention-Ct license
- Security Guard Reg-NYS license
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Some College
- Current and valid NYS Drivers License
- Basic computer skills including MS Office
