Job Summary
Monitor the assigned library building, grounds, and parking lots to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff while responding to all emergency situations. Work under the direction of the Safety and Security Coordinator to control problems, apprehend suspects, and maintain order using tact and independent judgment. Complete routine reports and correspondence using office software and adhere to Pioneer Library System policies, state, federal, and local laws. Requires Armed CLEET certification, a valid driver's license, and availability for a flexible schedule primarily evenings and weekends. Mandatory New Hire Orientation and Training will be attended at the Administrative Offices in Norman.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in security, law enforcement or related military experience
- prior military personnel must have received an honorable discharge and a minimum of six months experience in security
- Armed CLEET certification
- meet CLEET continuous education requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language
- Valid driver's license
- Work a flexible schedule primarily evenings and weekends
- attend up to two weeks of Mandatory New Hire Orientation & Training located at the Administrative Offices in Norman
