Job Summary
Conduct scheduled walking tours of the facility and grounds to ensure security, watch for fire hazards, and report unusual conditions to supervisors or authorities. Guard employee entrances during shift changes, manage access by opening and locking doors based on the operating schedule, and greet patients, clients, and customers professionally. Monitor visitor and driver actions for potential injuries or losses, and participate in required fire and safety training as part of the facility fire brigade. Maintain orderly conditions on the building, grounds, and parking areas while holding a valid driver's license, SORA license, and current first-aid and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of an approved high school equivalent certificate
- Currently valid and unrestricted driver's license
- Successfully completed American Red Cross first-aid and CPR course, or equivalent
- SORA license
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers and other office equipment
- Physical ability to kneel, bend, and perform light lifting
- Ability to write and speak clearly using the English language
- Ability to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone
- Close vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds
- Ability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
- Ability to tolerate high noise conditions
- Ability to tolerate exposure to weather conditions on outside tours
