Job Summary
Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members while carrying out site-specific procedures and security policies at educational facilities. Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional manner following established emergency response procedures. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter zones to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns. Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or policy violations, and maintain clear communication with school personnel and emergency responders. Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrols, and observations. This role supports a welcoming environment for the Cary, NC public education community.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
