Job Summary
Security Officer position providing campus security, visitor management, and incident response on a full-time basis. Responsibilities include patrolling campus premises to deter intrusion and suspicious activity, monitoring entry points and doors, authorizing entrances, logging vehicle plates and visitor activity, writing incident and irregularities reports, maintaining knowledge of camera systems and emergency response plans, and enforcing safety policies. Requires excellent written and verbal communication, professional appearance, ability to use two-way radios, and completion of background checks, drug screening, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Must possess a high school diploma, a valid Hawaii Driver's License, and a Hawaii guard card. Schedule includes day, swing, and overnight shifts; full-time at 40 hours/week. Located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Required Qualifications
- Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language
- Valid Hawaii Driver's License and clean traffic abstract
- Must have a valid Hawaii guard card
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required for the position
- Must clear the drug screening, physical, and fingerprint/background check requirements
- A high school degree
- Ability to communicate clearly using two-way radios
- Ability to patrol and monitor campus premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity
- Ability to write reports of irregularities and maintain logs
- Knowledge of emergency response plans and safety procedures
- Ability to operate camera surveillance systems and related equipment
- Ability to enforce policies and address unauthorized persons
