Security Officer - Full Time - 36 Hours - Evenings

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •High school graduate
• •Valid driver's license
• •One to two years of related security experience
• •Must acquire key personal safety skills within 90 days of employment (i.e., handcuff, pepper spray, crisis intervention)
• •Must have or be able to attend CPI training program
• •Must be available for evening shifts (230p to 1130p every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
• •Must understand and apply Medical Center's 'Use of Force' policy
• •Must be able to conduct Security/Safety rounds of the facility twice during shift
• •Must be able to document findings, identify and correct discrepancies and hazards, and test alarm systems
• •Must be able to assist in the management of aggressive/combative patients
• •Must be able to assist licensed clinical staff in application of restraints
• •Must be able to monitor high-risk patients awaiting disposition in the ED
• •Must be able to provide required documentation of security department incidents and activity
• •Must be able to describe and produce clear, concise reports of an incident and records in a daily activity log
• •Must be able to facilitate use of emergency evacuation heliport and understand policies governing use
• •Must be able to use knowledge of ground safety training as required
• •Must be able to act as first responder for Hazardous Material emergencies
• •Must be able to conduct immediate assessment of situation, isolate hazard appropriately, and activate outside resources (NPD/NFR) as needed
