Job Summary
Patrols district buildings and grounds to protect against illegal entry, acts of violence vandalism, illegal drug activity, arson and theft; conduct inspections of windows, doors, and points of entry; monitor school grounds for unauthorized persons/vehicles and ensure exterior security; validate identifications of pupils, staff, and visitors; detain unauthorized persons and summon police per security/crisis plans; participate in emergency and crisis management plans; notify authorities of urgent situations; document observations and incidents in reports; submit written incident reports; requires knowledge of security measures, fire prevention, and crowd control; must pass NJ Criminal History fingerprinting and adhere to NJ residency requirements; position terms: $30.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid New Jersey driver's license
- Must pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement
- New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees in effect
- Experience in law enforcement, school security and/or public safety
