Job Summary
Unarmed Security Officer for per diem assignments in the Allentown area with flexible scheduling across school-based, summer camp, and other site assignments. Responsibilities include maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring entrances, hallways, and designated posts; ensuring safe, secure, and orderly environments; responding to incidents and emergencies; documenting activity and completing daily reports; following site policies and post orders; and effectively communicating with staff, administration, supervisors, and clients. Shifts offered day, evening, and weekend depending on site needs. Qualifications include 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or GED, background check clearance, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and the ability to stand/walk for extended periods. For school and camp assignments, PA school clearances are required (ChildLine, Act 151; PSP Criminal History, Act 34; FBI Fingerprinting, Act 114). Compensation is $18.00–$20.00/hour base, with an additional $0.25/hour for military veterans/active-duty service members, and opportunities for pathway to long-term or full-time assignments based on performance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Reliable attendance when accepting assignments
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass background check
- Required in-person orientation prior to assignment
- For School & Camp Assignments, must be able to obtain required Pennsylvania school clearances: ChildLine Clearance (Act 151), Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History (Act 34), FBI Fingerprinting (Act 114)
