Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watching for irregular conditions that may create safety hazards. Sound alarms or call police/fire for unauthorized persons or fires, warn violators of rule infractions like loitering, and permit authorized entry while monitoring exits. Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and investigate accidents, incidents, or suspicious activities by preparing reports and maintaining required logs. Aid customers, employees, and visitors courteously, make emergency notifications per site Post Orders, and operate radio or telephone equipment. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice in the Irvine & Newport Beach area at $21.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Background investigation
- Drug screen
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
