Job Summary
Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public while carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location. Screen individuals and personal property for prohibited items using assigned equipment and established post procedures, and report concerns through appropriate channels. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control issues, screening alarms, and unusual activity. Conduct regular and random patrols around screening areas, entry points, and nearby perimeter locations as assigned. Document screening-related activities, incidents, and policy violations, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, site contacts, and responding personnel.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience
- college degree
- high school diploma or GED
- 21+ years of age
- security license
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred
