Job Summary
Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and authorized personnel while carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at a government location. Perform armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns. Monitor access points, verify credentials, and support established visitor and restricted-area access procedures. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting law enforcement and/or emergency personnel when appropriate. Document patrol activity, observations, and incidents through clear and accurate reports, and promptly communicate significant concerns to designated personnel. This role requires a six-month fixed-shift commitment with the option to pick up additional shifts through the Claim-A-Shift program. Applicants must possess an armed guard card, at least two years of law enforcement or military experience, and a corrections officer license.
Required Qualifications
- Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license
- Have at least two years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience
- Possess a corrections officer license
- Possess a law enforcement officer license
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs
- Possess a valid driver's license
