Security Officer - Driving Patrols

Job Summary
Conduct routine security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents and safeguard clients in healthcare, education, finance, and other industries. Watch for irregular conditions, warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering or smoking, and permit authorized entry while monitoring exits. Sound alarms or notify police and fire departments for fires or unauthorized persons, investigate accidents and suspicious activities, and prepare written incident logs. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Requires a valid driver's license, high school diploma or equivalent, and one year of prior security experience. Shifts run 8pm to 6am.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- 1 year or more of prior security experience
- Be at least 21 years of age, or higher if required by the state
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
