Job Summary
Guard posts at entry/exit points and conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of client buildings and grounds to ensure a safe environment. Check identifications for employees, vendors, and visitors; ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas; and look for suspicious people, packages, and activities. Document daily activities and report all incidents while following site-specific post guidelines. Maintain a friendly, positive, and professional image with excellent communication skills to de-escalate situations. Work Monday through Friday, various days, part-time 7am to 3pm in Muskegon and Grand Haven, MI. Rate of pay is $20.00/hour.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED
- At least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder (to perform armed security work)
- Not convicted of any felonies
- Not convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses
- Ability to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana)
- Willingness to adhere to company's Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner
- Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Willingness to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and be capable of administering this care in emergency situations
- Ability to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergency situations
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk long distances, including navigating stairs, for the duration of the shift (8-12 hours)
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons
- Ability to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday, Various Days, Part Time 7am to 3pm
