Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watching for irregular conditions that may create safety hazards. Sound alarms or call police/fire when unauthorized persons or fires are present, warn violators of rule infractions like loitering, and permit authorized entry while monitoring exits. Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and investigate accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities by preparing reports and maintaining required logs. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice, requiring reliability and the ability to adapt to different post assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Background investigation
- Drug screen
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
