Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watching for irregular conditions and sounding alarms for fires or unauthorized persons. Warn violators of rule infractions, permit authorized entry, and monitor entrances and exits. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and maintain written logs. Aid customers and employees in a courteous manner while making emergency notifications as required. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice at various sites including healthcare, education, and finance. Valid driver's license required; background investigation and drug screen apply.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
