Job Summary
Greet visitors, check IDs, and screen audience lines at live events while patrolling hallways and building perimeters to spot safety issues. Diffuse tense situations, respond to medical or fire incidents, and assist private security details for celebrities and dignitaries. Control messenger flow, utilize technology to document incidents, and perform walk-through evaluations at off-site events. Maintain precise logbook entries and answer visitor questions professionally. This shift-based role in Durham, NC, requires 1 year of corporate security experience, physical ability to work outdoors in all weather, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of corporate security, law enforcement or military experience
- Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, and strong command of basic English grammar
- Ability to make quick decisions using your training and common sense
- The knack for talking to people in a friendly way that gets results
- A team orientation and willingness to collaborate
- Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job and be outside in all weather
- Flexible workdays/hours (this is a shift work role) and ability to work some overtime
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher
- Valid Security Guard license issued by your state
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
