Job Summary
Provide a physical security and policy enforcement program for the main campus to ensure a safe environment for employees, clients, volunteers, and guests. Observe, report, and document safety violations while monitoring traffic flow, controlling "Hot Spots," and patrolling interior buildings, exterior perimeters, and residential areas. Coordinate with the Surveillance Operations Center to gather and disseminate critical information and work closely with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary. Diffuse confrontational situations using verbal de-escalation techniques and protect confidential data and company property. Maintain mental and physical fitness to meet the demands of all-weather, 24/7 patrols that include internal and external rounds. This role supports Catholic Charities' mission to uplift the Southern Nevada community through its 16 programs serving over 4,000 people daily.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum two years of prior security, law enforcement or related work experience
- Ability to understand directives and carry them out to completion
- Flexible schedule to work after hours, holidays and weekends, as necessary
- Ability to communicate with clients, donors, board members, co-workers and other CCSN staff
- Ability to remain alert and effective during the entire shift in a 24/7 environment that includes internal and external patrols in all-weather at all hours
- Ability to continuously sit and/or stand
- Ability to walk frequently throughout campus and occasionally run as needed
- Ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling and grasping as needed
- Ability to respond to emergency situations, as needed
- Ability to regularly lift 20 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or drag 50 or more pounds
- Ability to operate and use office equipment, security equipment
- Ability to listen and communicate by radio
- Must successfully complete a drug test
- Must successfully complete a background check
Desired Qualifications
- Current Basic Emergency Technician Certification (EMT)
- Certified Protection Officer (CPO)
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
