Job Summary
Security Officer role enforcing all laws, rules and policies within Job Corps’ Safety and Security Department; responsibilities include patrolling assigned areas, transporting students in center vehicle, assisting visitors and staff, maintaining accountability logs, performing security checks and inspections, issuing visitor passes, participating in disciplinary processes, and providing escort services. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license (bus license preferred), CPR/FA certification, and strong writing/communication skills; preferred candidates have 3–6 months security experience and a Class B license with passenger/air brake endorsement. The role includes being part of a dedicated security team focused on safety, integrity, respect, growth, and commitment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Valid State Driver’s License.
- Preferred: Three to six months’ experience in a security or work-related capacity, Class B License with passenger/air brake endorsement preferred.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of crowd control techniques preferred. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures preferred.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license. Ability to obtain a bus driver’s license.
- Must maintain CPR/FA Certification.
- Familiarity with problems of underprivileged, minority groups, especially youth.
- Good writing skills. Excellent communication skills.
