Security Officer: CP Chem Cedar Bayou

Job Summary
Conduct security patrols and access control duties at the Cedar Bayou refinery and railyard, monitoring CCTV and responding to incidents per established procedures. Perform vehicle searches, confront suspicious persons, execute rescue functions, and extinguish fires using appropriate equipment. Maintain constant alertness while operating vehicles day and night, conducting visual surveillance, and communicating via radio channels. Gather investigation information through interviews and compile written reports. Enforce safety and security measures, read company policies, and maintain a professional appearance in the provided uniform. Work under limited supervision in a constant state of alertness, with the ability to work alone or within a team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the work site
- State Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain
- Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively
- Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug screen
- Must be able to successfully complete a post-offer physical evaluation
- Must have basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, two-way radio, etc.)
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work well alone and within a team
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle during both the day and night; in urban and rural setting
- Ability to conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time
- Ability to observe, recall, and distinguish characteristics of persons, suspects, automobiles, location, property
- Ability to read, comprehend, and employ policies and procedures
- Ability to comprehend, evaluate, and correctly respond to oral information
- Ability to maintain a neat, professional appearance and come to work in complete and clean assigned uniform
- Willingness to work at various locations as required
- Willingness to perform other duties as required
Desired Qualifications
- Military, law enforcement, or security experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security company within the past five years
- Military experience in an applicable specialty
- Experience working in a refinery or plant
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry
- Certified in First Aid & CPR, refinery safety standards
- Conversational Spanish
